If you know Shelby, you know her heart. She is one of those rare people who pours herself into her community, always the first to show up for others. Whether it’s championing artists in the music industry, lending a hand to friends in need, or simply being the person you can count on when times are hard. Over the years, she has built a network of love, support, and respect that stretches far and wide. Shelby has given so much of herself to others, and now she needs us to give back.

This past month has been one of unimaginable heartbreak:

-She lost her beloved uncle, Mark, who was also her godfather.

-A week after Mark passed, she said goodbye to her childhood dog, Nala.

-Just yesterday, she lost her 1-year-old cat Wolfgang to cancer and had to make the devastating decision to put him to rest.

-And today, on the way to her uncle’s funeral, Shelby was in a serious car accident that left her car completely totaled.

Her car was her lifeline. The way she got to work, the way she stayed afloat. Now, on top of grieving three devastating losses, she’s facing the reality of not having transportation and the heavy financial burden of replacing it. In the meantime, she’s left relying on costly Ubers just to make it to and from work for the foreseeable future.

I’ve created this GoFundMe to help Shelby begin to get back on her feet after this overwhelming series of losses.

The funds will go toward:

-Purchasing a reliable used car so she can get to work and keep paying her bills

-Covering transportation in the meantime

-Being able to cover the vet bills she incurred yesterday for Wolfgang, as his deductible for his insurance was not met

-Assisting her through being able to get car insurance again

Shelby has always been someone who gives without asking for anything in return. Now, she’s facing more than anyone should have to carry, and she can’t do it alone. Even the smallest contribution will help lighten the load.
