Help Shelby Launch Her Small Business In Honor of Her Love
Donation protected
My name is Shelby, and in early 2020 I watched the man I love unexpectedly pass away from a pulmonary embolism. He was only 36 years old. His name was Peter Saide. And he was the kindest person I've ever known. Now five years later I want to honor his life, and help others that might be struggling, with my very first small business: Marigold Moon Comfort Gift Boutique. A shop and community that offers comforting and relatable gifts for those who are healing. The best part? We will give back with every single purchase in honor of Peter and all of loved ones we have lost too soon. I never thought I would put my story out there for so many to see, but I've learned life is short! And there is no shame in asking for help! So thank you so much for taking the time out for me. And for Peter. It means more than you know!
We are gratefully asking for donations to help us start up our small, female owned business, bring comfort to as many people as possible, and donate as much as we can to charity! In our local community as well as online. Right now we need lots of help:
-Securing our first round of inventory. We have the coolest original apparel designs that we can't wait to bring to you in sizes from S-2X, and hoping to have even more sizes. We also have handmade home decor and gifts created by my own mother and I, essential oils and pampering from other women owned small businesses (some that even know Peter personally), sympathy cards with phrases that actually comfort others during a time like this, jewelry to wear to honor them daily, pressed flower bouquets, guided journals and books, and so much more.
-Affording entry fees and supplies for in person pop ups. We are an online business that operates out of Louisville, Kentucky. And Kentucky has an incredible local small business market community. We have been accepted into the community and are securing our places for each pop up! We are currently raising funds for entrance fees, physical supplies, marketing supplies like business cards, postcards, our brand banner, and more.
-Making sure we donate with each and every purchase. Because this is our entire mission, we of course will have to account for the proceeds being sent to help others and not to replenish the shop. Any extra help we can receive to help us donate as much as we can is absolutely appreciated! Loss is not cheap. But this is the main reason I want to open this shop! Check out our website page here to see a list of foundations we cherish today: www.marigoldmoononline.com/resources
-Ordering sustainable shipping supplies. Our goal is to have completely sustainable shipping supplies! With life so short and our earth so precious this is a necessity for our business and we know it will cost just a hair more than usual. Thank you for helping us with our endeavors to open a thoughtful and eco-forward business! Donations with extra expenses like shipping supplies will help us help others as best as we can.
In short, thank you for helping me try to comfort and normalize grief and healing for as many people who need to hear this message as possible. I wish I had more of an opportunity to normalize my own grief experience. The pain of feeling alone during loss can feel unbearable. It's incredible the impact a thoughtful gift can have during such a confusing and heartbreaking time. That's why I am following my heart, and Peter's whispers in my ear, to open this little online boutique for anyone wanting relief and to relate to others on their journey. Because we are never truly alone in our stories.
