Hi everyone!

On behalf of Shelby, her friends have come together to organize a fundraiser to financially assist her while she is at a treatment center out of state.

Since January, we have been working towards getting Shelby into a residential center to stabilize her mental health and wellbeing. As many people can relate, the health care system is an absolute nightmare to navigate but regardless of the uphill battle these past 8 months, we have not given up, and most importantly, neither has Shelby.

The current uphill battle we are facing is covering Shelby’s finances while she is away. Our main goal has always been to have Shelby go to treatment and be able to focus 100% on herself without the stress and worry of finances. As of now, there is not a known timeline in which Shelby will return home as the length of treatment is on a case by case basis , determined by what her doctors think is the best for her. Once she comes home she will not be able to go back to work right away as she will need to reduce her level of care to help transition her back into daily life. With this all in mind, we are aiming to raise money to cover 4-6 months of expenses for Shelby. This would cover a majority of her bills and give her a buffer of financial stability once she is fully out of treatment.

We are so proud of our friend for seeking the treatment she needs and continuously advocating for herself even when facing extreme adversity. We extend our deepest gratitude to those who take a moment to read and donate. We also send our love to those who have been in similar positions.
