Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out from the bottom of my heart to ask for help for my soon to be 6 year old daughter, Shelby. At age 2 Shelby was diagnosed with Jacobsen Syndrome (11q deletion), and since then our lives have been filled with navigating the many medical challenges that come with her diagnosis.

Over the years, we’ve spent countless hours in therapies, on waiting lists, and at doctor appointments—doing everything we can to give Shelby the best possible future. Through it all, she continues to amaze her Dad and I every single day. She is one of the most caring, empathetic, and loving little girls you could ever meet.

Shelby has the opportunity to attend the 11q Research & Resource Group Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana July 2026. This would mean so much for her and for our family—to connect with experts, gain knowledge, and meet other families who truly understand this journey. Opportunities like this don’t come often, and they can make a lasting impact on her life.

We were honored to receive a partnership grant, but it requires us to fundraise a portion of the cost. For every $1 we raise, the organization will match $2 (up to $600!) That means if we can raise $300, we’ll receive the full $600 totaling $900 needed to help cover travel, lodging, and conference expenses.

(I made the goal $400 to make it an even $1000 towards the trip)
