Caught in the path of the Eaton fire on January 7, 2025, Shelby, her fiancé, Erik, and their two kitties were forced to evacuate their home in Altadena, California. Their house was lost in the rampaging fire.

Shelby and Erik are warm-hearted and generous people, always looking to support and serve others before themselves. Shelby works for a nonprofit as an administrative assistant and volunteers to teach yoga in the community. Erik is heavily invested in his role as a teacher at a local music college. They both sing in the Towne Singers choir.

I first met Shelby on a women's empowerment retreat in 2023. We quickly became fast friends and have built a bond that has extended into family. This is not something she would ever ask for on her own, again, always mindful of others, and I wanted to put something in place where myself and others could support her the way she has supported so many.

This GoFundMe is intended to cover temporary housing expenses, costs not covered by insurance, and replacing items destroyed by the fire. I will coordinate all financial matters with Shelby so that she and Erik have direct access to any and all funds raised.
