Shelle Miller is a 53-year-old widow who has fallen into an extremely difficult season of life. With no family nearby and limited support, she has been trying to survive on her own after losing her husband three years ago. Earlier this year, Sheila’s life changed drastically. She was robbed at work and struck in the head with a gun, requiring staples. Not long after, she fell at her tent—where she has been living for the past two years—and broke her back. Instead of receiving support, she was terminated from her job a week later. Soon after, Shelle was hospitalized and found out she has leukemia. She has been going through weekly treatments since June 2023. With no income, she survives on food stamps and does her best to manage daily tasks while living in a tent, but her health makes it harder and harder. Despite everything, Shelle finds comfort in reading, relaxing when she can, and attending church when she feels well enough. But she is struggling—and she feels like she isn’t getting anywhere on her own. I am organizing this fundraiser on her behalf to help her secure safe housing, cover basic needs, and get the stability she desperately needs while fighting cancer. Anything you can give will make a meaningful difference in her life. Thank you for taking the time to read her story and support her in this incredibly difficult time.
