Our friend Sheila Lucas needs everyone’s help right now. Her dad, Roberto Perez, who lives in the Philippines, had a stroke in 2021. He survived the stroke attack with left sided weakness and speech impairment. Her brother, Dennis, had to give up his job to be a full time caregiver for their dad while Sheila took care of the financial aspects of the rehabilitation. It was a long process but Tatay Roberto was able to eventually walk with assistance with a cane, able to say a few words and eat regular food.

Everything was going well with Tatay Roberto’s recovery until he had a heart attack on October 6. He was immediately rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment. He was admitted to the intensive care unit right away. On top of the heart attack, he was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia as well. That led him to be intubated and hooked to a mechanical ventilator a few days after. On October 13, he had a tracheostomy tube insertion to improve his lung function. He is still in the ICU, on a mechanical ventilator and with daily infusion of Albumin for protein build up.

Sheila has taken the full financial responsibility for Tatay Roberto’s hospitalization since his heart attack. We are asking for your prayers for Tatay Roberto’s recovery. Any financial help is greatly appreciated and would be a huge help in covering the hospital expenses.
