My name is Olunuga Halimah and I am raising funds on behalf of my father, Shehu Adetoro, who is currently battling a serious eye condition known as Retinal detachment in his left eye. This condition is urgent and sight-threatening, and without timely medical intervention, he risks permanent loss of vision.

In August, my father was initially misdiagnosed with cataract and placed on medication. Unfortunately, the treatment did not improve his condition. Concerned, he sought a second opinion at Hope Specialist Eye Clinic, General Gas, Akobo, Ibadan, where doctors discovered that the real issue was retinal detachment of the left eye, not cataract (Please see attached evidence)

Due to the urgency of the condition, he was given two weeks to raise ₦2,000,000 for emergency surgery. Despite the financial burden, the funds were sourced, and the first surgery was carried out, followed by post-operative treatments.

Sadly, about six weeks after the surgery, a follow-up examination revealed that the operation was not successful. There was still fluid accumulation in the eye, meaning the retinal detachment had not been fully corrected.

My father was then referred to Skipper Eye Clinic for further evaluation. He has since undergone a series of medical tests, which have already cost approximately ₦250,000. After these assessments, doctors confirmed that the retinal detachment is still present and that a second, more complex surgery is urgently required.

The total cost for this surgery and related medical care is ₦4,650,000, an amount that is far beyond our financial capacity (please see attached evidence).
