Hello and Namaste to all,

My name is Shefali Shrestha, and I am a junior at Caesar Rodney High School in Dover, Delaware.

I am pretty sure everyone is aware of the devastating floods in Nepal that took 1000 lives, and more than 4200 are missing. Though my family and friends are safe, there are a lot of Nepali families that have been broken apart and without basic needs.

Nepal is very close to my heart, and seeing the devastating floods and the pain and suffering they have been through has been incredibly difficult for me, like all of you. I keep thinking about the families who have lost their loved ones, homes, and everything, and I put myself in their shoes.

Therefore, I wanted to do something more than watch from afar.

I am starting this fundraiser because I believe that even one person can make a difference when a community comes together. I am reaching out to my school, my parents’ colleagues, friends, family, and our local community to ask for any help you can offer. The smallest donation, or simply sharing this fundraiser, can help provide support to people who are going through unimaginable hardship.

All funds raised through this campaign will be transferred to the Government of Nepal’s Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to support relief efforts for those affected by this devastating disaster. I will keep everyone updated on our progress and provide transparency about every penny raised and the funds transferred.

I know I cannot help everyone, but I believe I can help someone. If we all do a little, together we can do something meaningful.
