Help Sheena and Nick Get A Ride

Hi, my name is Sheena. I live in New Albany, IN with my spouse, Nick. I am a queer, disabled freelance artist and my husband is medically retired due to his own disabilities.

Currently, we rely on his retirement and disability income to get by, which is usually only enough to scrape by each month. I was planning on having a surgery later in the year that would help to decrease my daily pain, but we are now in more urgent trouble.

Earlier this week, our car and only source of transportation to and from doctors appointments broke down. It was found to be the engine, which would need to be completely replaced. This would be expensive enough on its own, but unfortunately, the car's engine is difficult to find on any marketplace as it was only used in two car models and the repair costs outweigh purchasing a new vehicle.

We are begging for any mutual aid we can get. This will pay for a towing service to move the dead car to a lot and to assist in paying for a new vehicle, plus medicine and doctors' appointments. Currently we have set the goal to $3000 to make sure we can cover everything.
