Meet Sheba! She is an adorable 12 year old boxer and the service dog for my friend Gary, who both live in Tolland. A few months ago Sheba developed cancerous tumors on her rear leg, which has the risk of spreading to her bones. Left untreated, Sheba’s leg may need to be amputated, or worse the cancer may overwhelm her and take her life. The surgery that Sheba needs will cost around $1900, which is needed before November 12th, the date of her scheduled surgery. Gary adores Sheba and wants to give back to her the care and comfort Sheba has given to Gary all these years. On Gary’s behalf, we are setting up this GoFundMe campaign to help Gary raise the funds needed for Sheba’s surgery.
In Gary’s words, Sheba has the personality of a “big baby”, and is his loyal friend. Gary relies on Sheba to comfort him through a variety of medical conditions. She responds to his PTSD episodes by jumping onto his lap in the wheelchair to calm him down. The two are inseparable, and Sheba is with Gary when they go shopping, for walks/wheels around the Tolland Green, and to Gary’s various doctor appointments. She is his loyal friend to Gary and makes him feel protected and safe.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about Gary and Sheba, and thank you for any contribution you can donate to help Sheba get the treatment she needs!
