Help Shayne Save Her Home and Animal Sanctuary

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Samalid Hogan, and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my friend Shayne Pedercini, someone I’ve proudly known and supported since 2016.

Shayne is a deeply compassionate and resilient woman with a powerful dream: to create a healing sanctuary for animals saved from slaughter and for people recovering from emotional trauma. But today, she’s at risk of losing her home to foreclosure unless we come together to help.

This isn’t just about a roof over her head. Her home is the foundation of TillieRose MicroSanctuary, a place currently in development, where both animals and people can heal and where love and second chances are at the center of everything.

️A Love Cut Short, a Legacy Under Threat
In 2019, Shayne and her life partner Tory bought the home they had long dreamed of. Their connection ran deep — they’d known each other all their lives and spent over a decade as loving partners. Tory was the main financial provider and an unwavering supporter of Shayne’s vision for the sanctuary.

On December 22, 2021, Tory tragically passed away, leaving Shayne heartbroken and financially vulnerable. Still, she continued pushing forward, determined to honor the life and dreams they shared.

A Career of Service, a Life Redirected
Before Tory’s passing, Shayne had already retired from her long-standing career in the medical and dental field, where she worked for over 30 years, including roles as a lead dental assistant and assistant office manager.

Her early retirement came after a life-altering head injury caused by a car accident. While not classified as severe, the injury impacted her ability to safely and effectively continue her work — work she loved deeply. The transition was difficult, leaving her grieving the loss of her career and later, the man she planned to spend her life with.

TillieRose MicroSanctuary: A Dream in the Making
Through the darkest of times, Shayne found hope and healing through animals. At a horse show at The Big E, she met a woman grieving the loss of her horse. Their conversation led Shayne to adopt her own horses, Sienna and Adalina, and sparked the beginning of what would become TillieRose MicroSanctuary.

Although not yet a registered nonprofit, TillieRose is Shayne’s active and growing vision — a safe haven for animals saved from slaughter and a peaceful refuge for people coping with PTSD, grief, and trauma.

Today, her sanctuary-in-progress is home to:

  • 3 dairy steers saved from slaughter
  • 8 chickens saved from slaughter
  • 1 bunny
  • 1 cat
  • 3 horses (including a mini, all rescued from hardship)

Shayne became vegan after a powerful visit to a slaughterhouse in 2019. Though she previously ate limited meat, that experience changed her forever. Now, her mission is not only about rescue, but about spreading awareness and compassion toward all living beings.

Why She Needs Our Help Now
Recently, Shayne was hospitalized with a kidney infection, adding to the physical and emotional toll she’s already endured. With no stable income and no financial partner since Tory’s passing, she now faces foreclosure. Without urgent support, she and the animals could lose their home.

Despite reaching out to her lender, the only response she’s received was to “sell the house.” But this isn’t just a house. It’s the dream she and Tory built and the future of her mission to help others through compassion, healing, and rescue.

How You Can Make a Difference
We are working to raise $50,000 by August 5th to stop the foreclosure and protect everything Shayne has built and continues to build. The mortgage bill is addressed to the Estate of Toryn M. Lane.

Your support will help:

  • Cover urgent mortgage payments
  • Keep the sanctuary animals safe and housed
  • Support Shayne’s continued mission to rescue more animals from slaughter
  • Preserve a space of healing for people and animals alike

Whether you're an animal lover, vegan advocate, or someone who believes in second chances — your help will make a direct and lasting impact.

If you can’t donate today, please share this campaign — especially with vegan, animal rescue, and trauma support communities.

With gratitude and love,

Samalid Hogan
