Most days Shayne worked at this property alone but as luck had it, he had an electrician on-site with him that day.
Shayne has the electrician to thank for his life as he called 000 and proceeded to conduct CPR under instruction from the 000 call dispatcher until 3 ambulances arrived on scene approximately 20 minutes later.
The paramedics were unable to stablise him and he was airlifted to the nearest hospital in a very critical condition.
On arrival at the hospital, the doctors struggled to determine what had happened and what caused this to happen and told his family that his survival would rely on how his body managed the trauma he had undergone.
Days of tests and scans revealed that he had suffered a major heart attack and doctors were amazed that he had survived as 95% of cases that severe, are fatal.
He underwent emergency heart surgery to clear a blockage in one of his upper ventricles and allow his heart to regain as normal function as possible.
The day after surgery, incredibly, he woke up.
Shayne has a long road of recovery ahead of him and we are hoping to take some of the financial strain off him and allow him to concentrate on his recovery over Christmas.
Anyone who knows Shayne, knows that he is the type of person who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need and would be the last person to ask for help.
So any donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated to help a great friend and all round good guy on his road to recovery.
