Help Shayna Overcome Brain Surgery and Treatment
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Shayna Welsh. I was first diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in February 2022 after discovering a lump during a routine breast check. Since then, I've undergone extensive treatment, including egg preservation surgery, lymph node removal, 16 weeks of ACT chemotherapy, a double mastectomy with reconstruction, six weeks of radiation, six additional months of oral chemotherapy, and a year of Herceptin and Perjeta infusions. I also received a year of Zoladex shots and six months of Tamoxifen. I was in remission since September 2022.
Recently, after experiencing severe headaches, lightheadedness, and fatigue, I went to the ER. An MRI scan revealed a suspicious mass in the back right part of my brain, which, given my history, is likely metastatic breast cancer, now advancing to stage 4. I am scheduled for brain surgery this Wednesday to remove the tumor, followed by localized radiation. Additionally, I'll be starting a long-term regimen of estrogen suppressants and may need to undergo ovary removal surgery later this year.
I previously created a GoFundMe to help with the costs of my initial treatment, and your generous support made a significant difference. I am once again seeking assistance to cover the new medical expenses for this surgery and ongoing treatment. Any contribution, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. Please also consider sharing this link to help spread the word.
Thank you for your continued support.
Warm regards,
Shayna Welsh
