We are EIO Rescue Ranch, a small 501(c)(3) located in Myakka City, and we only take on a small number of cases at a time so we can give each animal everything they need to truly heal.

Meet Shayla — Our 10 month old angel

Rescued from Miami-Dade Animal Services, this sweet baby girl came to us with what was thought to be a healing broken leg. Unfortunately, their X-ray machine was down, so everyone hoped the cast she arrived in was doing its job.

But once we brought Shayla to VMC at Lakewood Ranch, the truth came out…

Her leg is completely broken.

And not just one break — she’s facing a major, painful injury.

The surgeon laid out three options:

1️⃣ Amputation

2️⃣ Bone manipulation + recast

3️⃣ Full surgical repair with plates + screws

And as soon as we heard the words: “She’s young, she deserves a real chance at a full life. Surgery will heal faster, reduce infection risk, shorten casting time, and give her the best chance at running again.”

…we knew what we needed to do.

Shayla will be going into surgery this Thursday at 8AM.

She deserves the shot at keeping her leg — and we’re going to fight for her.

But rescues can’t do this alone.
