Hi, my name is Shayla and I am in my last year of law school at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. I recently found out that I will get to check off the last thing on my higher-ed bucket list— studying abroad!
Your generosity has helped ensure that I have the bare necessities covered to get to Madrid, but I *still* need your help!
I’ve increased my goal from $2000 to $3000 to cover getting a new suitcase, health insurance premiums for the two required policies above my U.S. insurance, costs for travel checkups for myself and Tinkerbell, and various clerical fees.
Here are some of the big ticket items you’ve already helped me cover:
1. Traveling to Chicago to apply for my student visa at the Spanish consulate;
2. Fees associated with the student visa;
3. First month’s rent in Madrid (there’s no student housing);
4. Flight costs; and
5. Tinkerbell The Dog’s flight carry-on fee.
I have savings but I just can’t make it stretch to cover getting abroad. To be honest, I didn’t really think I’d get to go because of COVID-19 and I felt that planning and saving for it would only make me more disappointed when the university cancelled study abroad programs yet again.
I really appreciate anything you can do to help make this dream of mine come true!
