I am raising funds to benefit Lenval "Shayar" Jarrett, who has encountered two devastating life events approximately 3 weeks apart.
Shayar's mom, Ms. Daphne , had a stroke two weeks ago, which has left her unable to speak, swallow, sit up, turn over, or walk. Ms Daphne is a Jamaican citizen, and like so many elderly people in Jamaica has no insurance. Shayar and his siblings have been paying out of pocket for all of her care since the dehabilitating stroke...this includes her hospital care, at home nursing care, and the CT scan she received. Ms Daphne needs both occupational therapy and physical therapy, a wheelchair, and too many other items to name, for the family to be able to care for her efficiently.
Approximately 3 weeks prior to Ms. Daphne's stroke, Shayar experienced a devastating loss when his loved one was struck by a car while crossing the street and died in his arms on the way to the hospital. This also incurred huge expenses (cremation, funeral, permits to travel with remains internationally, airline tickets, etc).
Additionally, Shayar has had to be in Jamaica for an extended period of time, again creating large expenditures while simultaneously being unable to work due to not being home.
This fundraiser will provide money for medical equipment, physical therapy, occupational therapy, in home nursing care for Shayar's mom. It will also assist with the final expenses of his loved one. Lastly, it will also provide money to cover expenses both here at home, and in Jamaica, allowing Shayar more time to stay and assist with his mother's care.
Please consider helping this lovely family during these troubling times.
