Help Shay Rebuild After Fire and Health Struggles

Update: Shay and I would like to thank you all for your support! Some of you gave time, some money, some gave her muscles for moving items into her new apartment and others an ear to listen to her vent.
This is just the beginning of a long exhausting, expensive journey to rebuild her life back into having a comfortable home again. Shay is an accomplished artist and English, language arts teacher who lost many cherished memories from her former students and art that she created.
I hope that with our help we can get her back to a place where she has a furnished apartment, and maybe get her some of her art supplies. Some of her books will hopefully be able to be cleaned, if not maybe we can get together and get her some barns and noble gift cards to replace her book collection. It may not seem like much to some but to an English teacher and book lover and collector, it was a collection of love.
Fire is so devastating, let’s get Shay back to her own place with her 2 kittens!
Again, I thank you all for your kindness, generosity, and support of all kinds.
Here is her bed!! She is so excited to have the bed and frame in!!

Hi friends and family! I don’t know if you all know, but our family has had a rough year with Jenny and Shay both being very sick. Both were hospitalized, with both of them having their gallbladders removed with complications, long hospital stays, and continuing medical treatment for both of them. We were getting by on prayers for both girls, and then one of the worst things that can happen in a person's life happened! Shay’s apartment building caught fire! She was rescued out of her 3rd story window with one of her cats, and the fireman had to go back in for her other cat.

Her home was destroyed. She had so many antiques, vintage clothes, and art that she made and collected through her years as an artist. She is also an English teacher and lover of books; she had so many books in her house, and they may or may not be able to be salvaged.

We are working with a cleaning service to see if some of the vintage items, art, books, etc., can be cleaned, but she doesn’t have a bed to sleep on or a cat tower for her cats. We feel terrible. Chris and I built her a tall tower for the cats, and there was so much damage it is unsafe for the cats to be around. Anything with carpet, bedding, her bed, blankets, pillows, etc., are all going to the big dumpster.
i do have her Amazon wishlist here too:
These are so many little things I don’t think about until something like this happens.

I am hoping we can gather this giving season for her and help get her into a new apartment and out of her temporary housing.
Again, Thank you my good friends and family! You are the best! ♥️
