As heart breaking as it is his fight has ended .

So most of you know my parents Jennifer Burkett and Shawn Mason. Im sure you remember Shawn from the Newell bridge as the ticket man. Extremely friendly and always smiling. My mom and Shawn's been together forever, 24 years. My mom has always taken care of him and honestly taken care of everyone else. On the 13th of February Shawn Mason was sick and complaining of chest pains. My mom took him to the hospital that afternoon and he was admitted for pneumonia and needed to stay and get antibiotics. By 5am on the 14th my mom gets another call and they say he's being transferred to Pittsburgh. He went into cardiac arrest twice. We all arrived in Pittsburgh and was met with incredibly terrible news Shawn was on life support. He was sleeping but his heart wasn't working and his body is completely unresponsive. To make matters worse his kidneys liver and lungs also stopped working. He was diagnosed with emphysema and liver disease. He's currently on dyalisis and may be for the rest of his life. Fast forward to today and now he needs both legs amputated because of loss of blood circulation. And he may also lose his hands. We know the doctors are doing everything they can but he still hasn't woke up. My mom can't bring herself to go far. She's renting a hotel to be close to him since she is not aloud in the ICU after 9pm. So she's there from morning until night. She's paying for the parking and food and everything everyday. She's currently unable to work at all. My mom and our family are going to need so much help. I'm asking all of our family and friends if they could make a donation to help in any possible way. And if you can't just pray. Please everyone pray for a miracle. We aren't ready to lose him yet and we aren't ready to give up. Please share please help my mom. When he does wake up we have a very long road and recovery ahead of us.

Update. Shawn has passed 02-21-25 all proceeds will go to funeral expenses and to my mom. Thank you for all your prayers and support.
