LATEST UPDATE 5/12/2024
I wanted to update everyone who has followed along with my journey. I am happy to report that I am feeling great, healthy, strong, and more importantly the results are truly remarkable. The latest petscan indicated a significant decrease in the areas of concern. Almost everything was "clear" aka gone. I have two items that still need attention. I now have an amazing team that aligns with how I am going about solving the imbalance in my body. It's my oncologist's recommendation to continue low dose chemotherapy until the remaining items are clear, then we will shift to a revised number needed once I achieve those results. Now that the plan has shifted (being near remission) the work isn’t going to stop, in fact it’s going to continue into the near future as I focus on all root causes to achieve remission and keep this thing away.
I want to thank every person who donated to this campaign, towards my healing and thank those that believe in the power of prayer, thank those that always gave me encouragement to not stop.
I also want to share how beautiful it's been to be able to connect with a community of women who are pioneering a new way to heal their bodies. To share this experience with other people embarking on the same journey and encourage those to trust in the true direction of their healing because it’s not one thing that gets you to the finish line it’s lots of things and you have to be both ruthless and graceful with the decisions that you make for your future. What do I mean by that? I mean stress is a killer and anything that brings stress into your life has to go it literally has to go and you have to choose healing over relationships that are unhealthy, diets that are unhealthy, environments that are unhealthy. And then you have to honor your own body by sticking to routines not to mention the expense that goes into achieving everything that I just said, but you know what, I’m here to tell you it is absolutely worth it.
Today, I’m in such a beautiful place. Thanks to all of you, I have come so far -- Look back at the past updates. I am incredibly grateful to be HERE. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
URGENT UPDATE.
Dear friends, family, and loving supporters,
I hope this message finds you filled with hope as we enter the holiday season. Just over a year and half ago, I embarked on a remarkable journey with taking on ovarian cancer head-on. After running into problems with conventional treatment, I was forced to consider a new way. A year ago I reached out for your unwavering support. Your generosity empowered me to complete a treatment program in Reno and begin another in Irvine. I am deeply grateful for the immense support you've provided along this transformative journey.
Since January of 2023, I've been diligently managing my health and making decisions that involve alternative treatments, which are expanding my perspective on healing. Ovarian cancer may take unexpected turns, but it has also opened my eyes to the world of holistic wellness, alternative therapies, and the remarkable strength within us. This past year, I have never felt better in my entire life.
Why I Need Your Help Again:
The work has never stopped, nor has the immune building treatments. My healing journey has been ongoing since April of 2022. The CA125 remained very low since last year and now it has spiked quite high which requires immediate attention to get it back under control. As I type this I am still waiting for scan results. However, I have been well advised to get going with the new plan that includes Low Dose Chemo 12 – 16 additional treatments along with localized hyperthermia, Hyper Baric Oxygen Chamber, immune building IVs, such as Vitamin C, Artensuate, among others that I need to leave off of this message, I hope you understand. I've chosen alternative treatments that require financial resource, its true. I’m not sure I would have survived the conventional methods after the problems I ran into originally. Half way through my conventional chemo treatments, I had a negative reaction that tanked my bone marrow, put me in near organ failure and required a blood transfusion and a cancellation of surgery. The survival rates for OC conventionally are dismal and quite frankly the industry can do better than 3% survival for anyone diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. I truly believe that. I do many things that cost nothing but my time and consistency while other things require time and a lot of money. I’ve funded as much as I can along the way. I'm optimistic and empowered by the progress I've made. Your continued support will help me access these innovative treatments and maintain my focus on the best approach to wellness.
How You Can Help:
• Donate: Your contribution, no matter the size, plays a vital role in enabling me to begin the needed low dose chemotherapy and continue to access alternative treatments on this inspiring path to healing.
• Share: Please share this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks. Let's raise awareness about the transformative power of alternative treatments and the hope they can bring with anyone battling ovarian cancer.
• Support: Your ongoing moral support, kind words, and prayers continue to uplift me. I draw strength from knowing that you're with me on this winding road to recovery.
What Your Donation Will Cover:
• Low Dose Chemo and other alternative therapies
• Medical expenses for my unique treatment journey
• Off label drugs not covered by insurance (shocker)
• Travel expenses to and from healing centers
I am immensely thankful for the support you provided in the past, and I am once again reaching out to you with optimism and gratitude. My journey against ovarian cancer has transformed me in ways I never expected, introducing me to the power of alternative healing methods and the strength within myself. Healing isn't always linear, and right now, I'm navigating a season of winding roads, filled with opportunities for growth and transformation. The plan has always been to HEAL and to go on to help other women in this arena. We need to empower one another now more than ever. Over the past 18 months I have been fortunate enough to counsel many others facing this challenging journey. It has been truly rewarding to help share and compare notes with others as well as instill in each other to never give up on hope and your healing.
Thank you for reading my story, considering contributing, and being a source of hope and inspiration in my ongoing journey. If you would like to follow along this is where you can find me:

From September of 2022:
Hi, I'm Shawnie. In April of this year was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. My family and friends immediately rallied behind me while I navigated the shock of the diagnosis. Decisions had to be made quickly. I began my conventional journey with healing. Family and friends took turns flying in to offer support, rides to doctor appointments, looking after my dog while I was hospitalized, keeping me company for over 6.5 hours for each round of chemotherapy, carrying me up the stairs, cooking my meals, listening, just listening, holding me and allowing me to cry. The list of "new experiences" is long. After a few complications with conventional treatment and being told the chances of survival using Standard of Care were in line with the National Average of less than 10%, I decided a different path was the focus for me.
The process of healing outside of conventional medicine is costly and takes time. We can heal. It takes a great deal of discipline to wake up and choose to live, learn new ways, choose them over our old routine, ask for help, and do it over again each day. God willing, the next 18 months will be spent on healing protocols and therapies. Turning that 10% into 68%. Many women have survived this diagnosis. Many are now thriving.
I am asking for you to help me continue this journey. Your donation will go towards ongoing treatments at different alternative cancer centers located in Irvine, CA and Reno, NV and Hope for Cancer in MX.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please share if you feel called to.
With Love,
Shawnie
