Dear Family, Friends, and Community,

We are setting up a fundraiser for our beloved Shawna Baca, who is currently battling colorectal adenocarcinoma that has metastasized to her liver (Stage IV).

She was originally diagnosed 09/30/2023 and put on chemotherapy by mid-October. After her second chemo treatment the antibody Avastin (immunotherapy) caused a bowel perforation and she was rushed into emergency surgery on November 11th, 2023, where they were able to take out the mass in her colon. Unfortunately, she spent eight days in the hospital fighting sepsis and was given a temporary colostomy. She was not able to receive chemotherapy for eight weeks due to recovery.

The liver lesions are large and surgery is not on option.

She received her next chemotherapy treatment early January 2024 and went back to the hospital with an elevated heart rate and now has sinus tachycardia.

After multiple rounds of chemotherapy, Shawna is fighting to overcome the debilitating effects from the carcinoma in her liver as well as the numerous side effects of chemotherapy. This has affected her ability to work and brought new and unexpected expenses. No one knows how long Shawna will be in this battle.

We are setting up this GoFundMe to raise money to help Shawna pay for her living and care expenses while she continues this fight.
