Help Shawna and Phil During Baby Wyatt's Healing
Donation protected
Shawna O'Dell and Phil Drew found out during Shawna's pregnancy with their second child that their little boy likely had a congenital heart condition (coarctation of the aortic valve). It was unknown until birth how extensive or what the prognosis would be...
Baby Wyatt Kai Drew was born on 8/30/24 and weighed in at 5 lbs and 13 oz. He was 16" long. Shawna had a scheduled birth at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester to ensure that adequate care was available following birth. Baby Wyatt was heavily monitored in the hours following birth and ultimately it was determined that he had to undergo open-heart surgery.
At just one week old on 9/6/24, Baby Wyatt underwent a several-hour-long open-heart surgery. He is now in recovery and hopefully all will go smoothly so that he can go home as soon as possible. It is likely that Baby Wyatt will spend the next several weeks in the hospital in recovery.
Shawna and Phil also have a three-year-old little boy (Levi) and reside over an hour away from Strong Hospital. Along with medical expenses associated with Wyatt's care, Shawna and Phil will be incurring expenses while splitting their time between their boys who are a distance apart from one another.
I work with Shawna in a foster care program in which she dedicates her time to ensuring the safety and well-being of children who are placed into foster care. Please consider helping Shawna and her family during this difficult and emotional time.
