I am setting up this go fund me to help defray the costs for both my living kidney donor, should I be blessed enough to find one, and myself. As we all know the cost of major medical care is expensive, not only in terms of insurance premiums, but also co-pays, co-insurance and lost wages during post op care. Living kidney donors typically miss 2 weeks of work but could miss up to 4 and have to travel back and forth to Yale before and after donation. I will need to travel to the transplant center 2-3 times per week post op for the first 3 months or so, as my body takes to the new kidney and my doctors tweak my anti-rejection medications. Also, during the initial post op period, I will not be able to work. This time is critical for me to focus on recuperation and limit my exposure, as my immune system will be medically shut down.  God willing, I will find a donor sooner rater than later so I can get back to the most normal life I can have.
