Who – Shawn & Sherry –

Met and started dating in November 1995 and will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this year.

What Shawn does for work: Class A CDL driver for MN Towing/Sell-A-Junker where he hauls semi loads of scrapped vehicles to the larger recycling facilities.

Who they are as people: Cliché – “Would give the shirts off their backs” Manifest the good energy and vibes Supportive Old school Hippie hearts full of loving “love” and appreciating the beauty that is found in this world

Outside work: Making people smile by sharing a funny cat videos on Facebook and enjoying his proud papa moments for their son’s accomplishments.

Most relaxing moments are had when he and Sherry are up at their favorite summer spot at Fish Lake Resort in Mora, MN. Another favorite is when his shades are on and his love’s arms are wrapped around him as they hit the road on the hog.

What – Congestive Heart Disease (stage 3) / Chronic Kidney Disease (stage 3-4) / Coronary Arterial Disease

Shawn was diagnosed with Diabetes 13-14 years ago which has led to the kidney problems and added to the other markers that were in place for possible heart disease. Shawn first had a series of heart attacks in January of 2018 that led to 5 stents being placed in arteries that were all over 85% blocked. Most recently, he suffered another round of heart attacks in July 2024. Three more stents were placed this time. Shawn is doing well in his cardiac therapy so far and has gained back a good percentage of heart functions from the 35% seen in July. There is still a long road to go with ongoing care and specialists required for the other hurdles.

Where / When – Residing in Coon Rapids Sherry traveling to and from the hospital, work, and home.

Because with one person not working, and the other person doing what they can to hold down their sanctuary… It gets tough to juggle it all. Appointments are time consuming, and gas is not cheap

Door dash Sometimes the beauty in not having to run somewhere for groceries or dinner can be such a huge blessing Life sucks as it is.

But when you love someone as much as Shawn and Sherry love each other, news like this makes life even more challenging when all you want to do is to be by your person to spend unforeseeable amounts of time together. Because Life can be so beautiful, yet, so stupid and frustrating the more we all attempt to juggle our day to day.
