My name is Shawn, and I’ve always taken pride in working hard and supporting my family. After open heart surgery at 52, I was grateful to recover and return to life, but six years later, I suffered a stroke that changed everything. I had to leave a great job with wonderful people at places like Tom Wood Toyota, Hubler Chevy, Hubler Nissan, and Tom Roush Lincoln Mercury Mazda. Even when offered a lower-paying position, I couldn’t continue due to my health, and I worried about the risk of more strokes.

Moving for financial reasons was one of the hardest decisions I’ve made. The cost of medical care, frequent doctor visits, and daily living expenses have drained my savings and left me struggling to keep my home. I’m currently trying to get disability, but the process is slow, and I’m at risk of losing everything I’ve worked so hard for. My greatest wish is to regain stability, find a safe place to call home, and focus on getting healthy so I can spend more time with my daughters, Kyndra and Kyra, and reconnect with old friends.
