Shawn and Lexie are both transgender adults who have shown incredible strength and resilience while caring for their adult child, Rain, who lives with disabilities. Right now, they are facing an urgent and heartbreaking situation: Kansas has become a legally hostile environment for transgender people, and they no longer feel safe or welcome in their own home. The new laws targeting transgender individuals have made daily life not only difficult, but dangerous for this loving family.


As someone who cares deeply about their well-being, I am reaching out to ask for your help. Shawn, Lexie, and Rain need to relocate to Colorado, where they can live authentically and safely, free from fear and discrimination. The funds raised here will go directly toward moving costs, travel expenses, and securing housing in a more welcoming community. As an LGBTQIA ally, I’m actually begging you on my hands and knees to help my friends escape to a place where they will feel welcome and seen.
