Fourteen months ago, Shawn Jones began an unexpected journey. In February of 2020, Shawn entered the hospital for an out-patient procedure, which unfortunately led to an extended ICU stay of 22 days. Once released, Shawn attempted to resume a normal life while dealing with multiple health issues.
In January of 2021, Shawn was once again faced with surgery for her original non-healing surgery wound. While it seemed that all was well, she returned to work. However, in February 2021, health concerns arose again which led to an additional surgery and hospital stay. Fighting multiple emergency room visits, additional surgeries were performed which unfortunately did not resolve the problems.
Yet another surgery was performed on April 9th, however, due to a severe infection, the healing process did not go as planned and another surgery had to be performed.
While Shawn is now at home recovering, the out-of-pocket costs of her multiple surgeries have now totaled well over the $10,000 that we are hoping to raise. Unfortunately, due to the multiple hospital visits and recovery days, Shawn’s sick days have been exhausted. Her husband, also a teacher and her primary caregiver, has endured these struggles as well.
For those that may know Shawn know of her passion for teaching and her love for her students. Shawn gives selflessly of her time and talents to her family, friends, or even complete strangers. Her christian heart and passion for teaching has endeared her to many.
We are asking for your financial donation to help alleviate some of the family’s financial burden this has caused. Any donations will not only help the medical costs, but will also help the livelihood of their family.
