Hi everyone, this is the Horton family, we are reaching out on behalf of Shawn Horton. Shawn recently experienced a life-changing injury while on the front lines of Ukraine.

While in Kyiv, he stepped on a landmine and there was an explosion. He had to have emergency amputation of his right foot (mid shin down). Since then he has had a second amputation above the knee due to complications. While we are beyond grateful he survived, the road ahead will be long and filled with challenges physically, emotionally, and financially. There are many surgeries ahead to ensure he gains as much mobility as possible.

Shawn is one of the most selfless and courageous people I know. He proudly served in the U.S. Marines and later joined efforts to fight wildfires in California, putting his life on the line to protect others. His deep care for global issues and his belief in standing up for what’s right are what led him to serve in Ukraine. Helping people, no matter where they are in the world, has always been part of who he is.

-A prosthetic foot and physical rehab  

-Mobility equipment    

-Basic living expenses as he focuses on healing Shawn is determined to keep pushing forward.
