My best friend Shawn is one of the most caring and generous people I know. Her two dogs, Oscar and Scooby, are her world—they bring her so much joy and comfort every day. Over the past couple of months, both Oscar and Scooby have needed surgery, which has been emotionally and financially challenging for Shawn.

Just yesterday, Scooby’s stitches from a previous surgery opened up, and Shawn had to rush him back to the vet for urgent care. This morning, things took a turn for the worse: Scooby was crying and trying to vomit, so Shawn had to miss work and take him to an emergency vet. It turns out Scooby’s stomach had twisted, and he is now undergoing emergency surgery to save his life. The stress and worry have been overwhelming for Shawn, and the vet bills are quickly adding up.

The funds raised here will go directly toward covering the mounting veterinary expenses for Oscar and Scooby, as well as helping Shawn manage the time she’s had to take off work to care for them. Shawn would do anything for her dogs, and now she needs a little help from her community.
