Help Shawn Fight Kidney Cancer
Donation protected
Shawn Robert Moore is my cousin and my dear friend. He is a talented hair stylist, a loving partner, uncle, nephew, brother, and cousin. He has always been there for our family, friends, and everyone who knows him. He has a wonderful smile, a wicked sense of humor, and a keen sense of human nature which helps him connect with everyone.
On May 30th, 2024, Shawn's life changed forever. He was not feeling well and was having mobility issues. A trip to the ER led to a diagnosis of kidney cancer, and although it is treatable, it is very aggressive and has already spread to his liver, lungs and brain. Shawn had to undergo emergency surgery to remove two brain tumors, which left him with partial paralysis on his right side. He is now in a rehabilitation center, where he is working hard with occupational therapists. He also needs to start chemotherapy and radiation therapy as soon as possible, to try to stop the cancer from growing further.
Shawn is facing a long and difficult battle, and he needs our help. Presently he is unable to work as a hair stylist, and he needs to be able to stay afloat while he fights this cancer. He has to pay for his medical bills, his rehabilitation, his rent, his utilities, his sweet, beautiful pup Gertrude, and other basic needs.
How you can help
We are asking you to join us in helping Shawn fight kidney cancer. We have set up this Go Fund Me campaign to raise $30,000, which we estimate could cover at least six months of his expenses. This will allow him to focus on his recovery, and not on his bills. Any amount you can donate, no matter how small, will make a huge difference for Shawn and his loved ones. You will also be giving him hope and encouragement and letting him know that he is not alone in this fight.
If you cannot donate, you can still help by sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and social media networks. The more folks who see this, the more likely we are to reach our goal. We know Shawn also would welcome your prayers, your thoughts, good vibes, and your messages of support. He loves hearing from his friends and his clients, and he appreciates every word of kindness and love.
Thank you for taking the time to read Shawn's story, and for considering helping him. He is a fighter, and he is determined to beat this cancer. With your help, we can make his journey a little easier, and give him the best chance possible to survive, thrive, and get back to doing the things he loves.
