Help Shawn Bounce Back

On March 14, Shawn was at work preparing his truck and plow for the snow that was in the forecast. The equipment wasn't cooperating so he tried to muscle it. While doing so, he suddenly became light headed and dizzy. He called Ashley, who convinced him to go to the emergency room (thank goodness). The Emmetsburg ER couldn't get a helicopter to take him to sioux falls, due to the weather. Shawn was sent by plane to the Mayo Clinic ICU in Rochester. He underwent an emergency surgery to repair an 8 inch Aortic Aneurysm. The surgery lasted from 7pm until 4 am on 3/15. Most of that time he was on heart and lung bypass. The surgery went as well as it could have.
Fast-forward to 3/22, Shawn was discharged from Rochester and returned home. Then, in the early hours of 3/23, He was experiencing severe pain in his abdomen, and returned to the Emmetsburg ER, where he was taken by ambulance back to Rochester. Shawn's Gall Bladder was 5 times the size they expected it and there were small stones inside. His white blood count was high. His Gall Bladder needs to be removed, but the doctors determine it's too risky to do while he's still recovering from his Heart Surgery. They decide to place a drainage tube through the skin to the Gall Bladder. The idea is to relieve some swelling and pain to buy time to remove it entirely.
While Shawn is not one to ask for a handout. I have faith in the power of community and kindness. As of now, Shawn is unable to return to work until his Gall Bladder has been removed. The estimated time until he can return to work is 14-18 weeks. In addition to Shawn losing his income for the duration, his girlfriend Ashley has been by his side the entire time. She's been such a blessing and so helpful. We are so grateful for her.
This fund is to help Shawn, Ashley, and the kids to keep the lights on while Shawn is recovering and out of work. The funds will only be used to cover living expenses until they are both able to return to work.
Anything will help. If you are unable to make a monetary donation, please keep Shawn and family in your thoughts and prayers.
