In November of 2024, I woke up with nerve sensations from the chest down. Doctors found 4 segments of plaque on my spine, 2 in the brain, 1 in my neck and one in my mid section, which turned out to be MS. The MS in my mid section caused an "episode" and triggered what's called Transverse Myelitis. This causes the lining around the nerves to be eaten away and my nerves are making contact causing numbness and crazy nerve sensations from my chest down through my body 24/7. I spent weeks in physical therapy re-learning how to walk with the numbness. I'm good on flat land but not on uneven or rocky ground. The nerve sensations are manageable with medication but they feel like a cross between hitting your funny bone and touching an electric fence. Intense vibrations and tingles along with the numbness all the time. My muscles from the chest down are spastic all the time due to the nerve damage. I am unable to walk very far because it feels like there is a hand around my spine squeezing with every step. Everything from my chest down has been affected by this and eventually I'm going to lose the ability to walk.
Since 2019 I've had 3 total reverse shoulder replacements, a hernia surgery and 2 carpal tunnel hand surgeries. I was just about to have my life back and then this happens. Doctors have said "sorry, wish we could do more for you." They could do more if they were in Mexico, Sweden, or Germany. Stem Cell replacement is not practiced in the U.S.
