Hi, my name is Annette and I have started this page for my granddaughter and her family. Desarae's husband Shawn was in the emergency room on March 4,2026 with severe back pain. The hospital told them it was normal back pain due to aging and his profession (HVAC). He was sent on his way. On March 16,2026 Shawn woke up to go to work and had no feeling from his nipples down. He could barely stand and was getting weaker quickly. They brought him to a different hospital where they immediately started running all kinds of tests. By late afternoon and several tests later they were told Shawn had a large tumor wrapped in his spinal cord. He was immediately admitted. By that night he was scheduled for back surgery and speaking with several doctors in many specialties. At this point Shawn could barely stand let alone walk. He was loosing his abilities quickly and Dr.'s feared he would be paralyzed without surgery. On March 19,2026 Shawn was brought into the or and they biopsied a large tumor under his armpit as well and the tumor they removed from his spinal cord. The Dr was not able to safely remove it all. By the grace of God and all the hospital staff Shawn was able to walk with a walker Friday afternoon. He was discharged on March 23,2026 pending results of biopsies. He had a follow up on March 31,2026 where they were informed Shawn has lymphoma Cancer and will need to under go treatment. At this time we are unsure of the Stage or exact kind, we will know the exacts on April 7,2026. Shawn will ultimately be out of work indefinitely at this point. This leaves the financial strain on my Granddaughter (& her son Christopher helps when he can). I am asking first for prayers lots of them. I am also asking if anyone could donate thank you if your unable please share this. Shawn was the main provider to pay the household bills and they have 2 younger daughters.
