Help Shawal with his Mom's Funeral Expenses

Assalamu Alaikum:

Shawal Khan and his younger brother Hisham Khan recently returned from a family trip to Pakistan after a long stay because he had to return to work. His mother and father remained in Pakistan to enjoy their extended vacation. While they had not even been back in Canada for a couple of months, Shawal got a call from his father Monday evening (March 27, 2023) to inform him that his mother had fallen severely ill and that she was in critical condition at the hospital. The sickness had not yet been disclosed. Shawal and his brother (Hasham) had no choice but to leave work and book emergency flights back to Pakistan first thing the next morning, leaving everything behind in a rush. In the meantime, their mother had been diagnosed with the final stages of cancer and was breathing her last few breaths. They were able to reach Pakistan in time to sit by their mother’s side one last time for a mere 2 hours while she lay there unconscious and unaware. Shawal’s mother passed away yesterday leaving behind a loving husband, Shawal Khan (the oldest son at 22), Hisham Khan (19 years old), and a young daughter, Wareeshah Khan (16 years old).

Currently, no member of the family has a job due to the urgent matter at hand. The funds raised will be given to the family to cover costs of flights and other funeral expenses. As it is the month of Ramadan and the month of giving, the reward of everything is multiplied immensely by Allah.

Please donate whatever you can with an open heart in this difficult time as the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. has said “Verily, charity does not decrease wealth”. In another narration, He S.A.W. stated that “Verily, charity extinguishes the wrath of Allah”.
