Help Shaw Family Pay for COVID Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Dear friends, my name is Stephen Shaw, and my wife Carrie are both self-employed. The COVID pandemic has caused significant damage to both of our companies. We do not have any employees left; my wife and Dad are helping me with my small company trying to keep it open. My wife is a counselor, and she works with kids that have been through all types of trauma, from 2 years old to young adults. My wife and son each have been quarantined eleven times between the two of them with negative COVID results every time, but the time off work for my wife has put us behind on paying our bills at home. I have been COVID-free until Jan. 16, 2022, and then I worked through it with my doctor until he decided to admit me to the hospital on Jan. 24, 2022, and I have been in intensive care ever since with a severe case of viral COVID pneumonia. My doctors have me on a high-volume oxygen machine, but I have been able to avoid the ventilator so far. The struggle has been trying to get my oxygen levels up so I can go home.
Even when I go home, I will have to be on oxygen for two to three weeks before I can go back to work. We never got approved for supplemental income from the government, and we were denied the second rounds of EIDL and PPP loans from the government, which told us they ran out of money to help us. We are currently two payments behind on our car and mortgage payments and need a little help with donations so the bank does not foreclose on our home or repossess our cars. I solely sell all of our products since we lost all of our employees due to COVID lay-offs, supply chain problems, inflation, and lost so many customers as well as well as I have lost eleven of our suppliers, which have all gone out of business. That means getting new suppliers means we lost our terms to buy raw materials, so we now must pay as we go, which makes it even harder to sell products to customers that expect 30-day terms from us. With low to no sales, if we can make a couple more months and not lose everything, we have worked for our whole careers for we would have a fighting chance. Now that crude prices are going up, we do have a contract that could be renewed by the second quarter of 2022. We would be so blessed if anyone could help us through these most challenging times. We think God is so ridiculously awesome, and we know we can do this with God's help!! Thank you so much for taking your time to reading this message and listening to our story!!
Sincerely,
Stephen & Carrie Shaw
