Hi, my name is Shaun. I’ve spent my life working hard as a Painter, providing for my family with my own two hands. I never imagined that my health would collapse the way it has. Over the past few years, my medical situation has become extremely complex. I’ve developed autoimmune arthritis, intermittent loss of leg function, chronic pain, severe fatigue, and memory problems linked to a micro-hemorrhage in my brain. On top of that, I lost leg function due to a failed knee replacement and a failed knee revision, which also caused a deep vein thrombosis (DVT). These conditions have taken away my ability to work, even though I’ve tried to push through as long as I could.
My long-term disability benefits were recently terminated despite ongoing medical evidence, and now I’m stuck waiting on an SSDI appeal that could take months. To make things even harder, my wife is unable to work because she is the full-time caregiver for our son, who is autistic and has epilepsy. She has to watch him constantly for his safety, so I am the only one who ever brought in income. With everything hitting at once, I’ve fallen two months behind on my house payments, and we are at real risk of losing our home.
Asking for help is the last thing I ever wanted to do. But right now, I’m fighting to keep a roof over my family’s head while battling serious health issues and navigating a long disability appeal. If you can help us catch up on our house payments or even share this, it would mean more than I can express. Thank you for your kindness and support during the hardest time of our lives.
Thank you, Shaun
