This GoFundMe is being created to support my cousin, Shauna-Kay, whose home in St. James, Jamaica was severely damaged during Hurricane Melissa. The storm tore apart her roof, flooded her house, and destroyed many of the belongings she and her children depend on every day.

Right now, the roof is unstable and continues to leak whenever it rains, making it impossible for her children to safely return home. The estimated cost to repair the roof alone is almost $7,200, and this fundraiser will go directly toward helping her rebuild the one place her family should always feel safe.

Anything raised beyond the roof repairs will help cover the banking fees required to get the funds to her, along with any other immediate needs she and her children are facing as they try to start over from this heartbreaking loss.

Per GoFundMe’s guidelines, I will be listed as the beneficiary so the funds can be transferred to her in Jamaica without issue—but every donation will be sent directly to Shauna-Kay and used to rebuild her home.

If you’re able to give, please know it will make a meaningful difference. And if you can’t donate, a share can go a long way.

Thank you for helping this family find stability, hope, and a fresh start.
