My name is Shauna, and I came out as a transgender woman four years ago. I have socially transitioned fully and been on hormone replacement therapy for almost three years. My name and gender markers are legally changed, and each new step brings a flood of joy. This journey has allowed me to truly come into my own, and I am happier than ever before. Now, I am ready to take the next step in my gender journey by pursuing gender affirming surgery. This is a deeply personal and necessary step for me to feel safe, confident, and fully myself in the world.

Unfortunately, gender affirming care is not only expensive, but it is also increasingly under attack by the federal government. The costs for surgery, recovery, and potential travel are significant, and I cannot cover them on my own. If I am able to receive surgery within the next year, it will mean everything to me, allowing me to live authentically and helping me feel secure.

The funds raised will go directly toward surgery costs, recovery expenses, and travel if needed. Anything raised beyond my initial needs will support other aspects of my gender journey, such as additional laser hair removal, HRT, and related care.
