Help Shaun Rebuild His Life After Surgery Setbacks
Donation protected
This is a tough one for my family.. but we need some help.
17 years ago Shaun attempted suicide. After over 35 reconstructive surgeries to give him a functioning jaw and mouth.. a surgery failed and reversed these other procedures leaving him in a medical situation that made him at risk for losing all mouth functions and possible death. For the last 10 years we have looked for a surgeon to help give him some aspects of his life back. This last fall we found one. Dr. Mardini at mayo in Rochester. This surgeon has been amazing, but these Surgeries came with new challenges and expenses our family wasn't prepared for. Because of this Shaun has spent the majority of the year not working, and needing extra medical care. This last surgery caused a portion of his mouth to "die" off and will require another surgery in a month. We recently were declined by insurance for his feeding supplies. Which adds another huge expense. Shaun's feeding tube is his primary source of nutrition because of the risk of infection in mouth. That along with continued visits, surgeries and over night stays in rochester, financially we are strapped. But doing the best we can. If you are able to help, we would greatly appreciate it. Or even a share to pass on the information. Help give my husband a better chance at living the life he deserves.
