Donation protected
Hello! My name is Marvin Allen. On October 11, my nephew (TuShaun Moore) who was the victim of an attempted robbery in Lithia Springs, Georgia. It was a rainy Wednesday night , shortly after midnight and upon getting out of his vehicle, he was approached by two armed gunmen who demanded his wallet and all other valuables. During this encounter my nephew got into a physical altercation with one of the suspects. He sustained multiple gunshot (5) wounds to his abdomen and right and left thighs.
Shaun was rushed to Atlanta’s Grady Memorial Hospital (one the top trauma centers in the Southeast) and underwent several operations. Praise God and thank you Grady Hospital, my nephew is still alive because of your outstanding doctors, nurses and staff who are the best at what they do. The average human body contains 15 units of blood, he needed 24 during his multiple surgeries. Doctors removed his spleen, part of one kidney and part of his pancreas. Shaun remained in ICU for 6 days, and by day 3 he was able to breath on his. His labs have been stable and the main goals for now is managing his pain. Extensive therapy will needed to regain his strength and learn alternative ways to complete activities for daily living.
Shaun is self employed and has been the primary care provider for his 75 year old mother who is battling dementia. The road to recovery will be long; unfortunately, he does not have medical insurance and medical bills and other expenses continue to mount as he has remained hospitalized for two weeks now and it’s unclear when he will be released.
The family is prayerful (we welcome yours) he will be restored physically and mentally. His siblings have moved mom (Elaine) in with them, so Shaun can focus on recovery. We are trying to unburden him of as much mental and financial stress as possible. Your financial donations will be a big help in navigating these turbulent and difficult times. Thanks in advance for whatever help you’re able to give.
