Shaun O'Connor was viciously attacked by those she thought she could trust. You know what she said? I quote "I don't want this to happen to any other transwoman" even now she's thinking about other people. This is the human being we are talking about. So as I replay what has occurred I am so hurt I am hurt because I was tricked into a situation that turned out to be a set up.
A few weeks back I was fired from The Pride Center of Maryland because I spoke of the trans phobia I was experiencing from the executive director. When I was fired I went into a deep depression due to the fear of being out of work would force me back into survival mode. My cousin thought it would be a good idea to come out to a cookout to be social. This wasn’t a social gathering this was a trap. A trap that Is set more often then we think. 2weeks ago I marched through the streets of Baltimore with a trans led organization by the name of Baltimore safe haven Iya Dammons and thousands of people
#BlackTransLivesMatter because us trans women are being Brutalized and Murdered. Little did I know, I would become a victim of the same Heinous crimes we’re fighting against. I never would have thought I, a trans activist that serves the community would fall victim at the hands of Gay Bashers.
 Sunday I was invited to what I thought was a family cookout but instead I was meticulously attacked by a group. I was maliciously beaten with poles as they screamed “You Faggy Bitch”
As I laid there in my own blood withstanding the beating that was upon me all I could wonder was “is this how other trans women felt as they were savagely beaten and than killed”!?
I prayed to God in those devastating minutes “God Please Let Me Make It Through”
I awaken Monday morning in the hospital with staples in my skull, 3 fractured ribs, Both wrist fractured, broken leg that has to be corrected with surgery and more bruises than the doctors could actually count.
Being as this experience has been first hand I will advocate harder for there to be a zero tolerance law for these types of savage behaviors.
