Help Shatha's Family Survive and Rebuild

Hi,

My name is Ariel Collins and I live in Portland, OR. I started this fundraiser for Shatha and her extended family in Gaza who have all been separated and displaced more times than they can remember due to the horrific genocide. Shatha is 28 years old and was an English teacher prior to October 2023. Of course, since all schools and livelihoods have been destroyed, she, like most Palestinians in Gaza, is without work, as is her husband. Shatha is desperately trying to support her family and has dealt with a number of challenges that most of us could not begin to fathom. Her two young children, Amir and Mira, have struggled with the heat, illnesses including hepatitis A, and constant trauma and fear from the bombings and destruction they've witnessed.

Over the past several months, I have had the great privilege and honor to get to know Shatha and her two sisters, Rasha and Saja. Rasha has four young children, and Saja is just 18 and not able to start at her university this fall like so many Americans. It's not fair and it's not right.

The funds donated will be used for basic necessities to simply live. Tents, food, water, water pumps, diapers, toiletries (which have become so cost prohibitive), and other necessities to survive.
