I rescued Shasta from an abusive home. She was left out in the elements with little or no food or water and no shelter whatsoever. She had 2 litters of puppies before she was two and half years old. She is a sweet, gentle soul who loves to be loved. When we were finally able to took her to the vet for a physical we were hit with devastating and heartbreaking news. She has heart-worm. A deadly disease that if not treated will lead to unmanageable pain and suffering. I was shocked and overwhelmed not only at the diagnosis but at the extensive cost of treating her. Over $3500 for  treatment to save her life. The vet said she wasn’t symptomatic but could not tell how long she has had it. But said because she wasn’t symptomatic the chances of her recovery to lead a happy and long life looked positive. The Veteranarian will not take payments due to prior loss of unpaid vet bills from past pet’s families who didn’t pay their bills so payment is due at each treatment. I am reaching out to those who love their pets as I do in hopes of raising enough money to save Shasta’s life.  This is an enormous amount of money to ask for but I am asking... because I love Shasta and want her healthy. We have to keep her calm as not to get her heart rate up. But she needs this intervention immediately. Thank you to those of you who are able to help.
