Help Sharron Art Center Repair Damages
Hi, my name is Isabelle Yan and I would like to bring light to an urgent situation that is of great importance to me. To begin, I've been attending my art school, Sharron Art Center for almost 10 years now. This place holds a prominent position of importance in my life, so I would like to express my gratitude through this fundraiser if it's the least I can do.
Many of us I'm sure, are aware of the damages Hurricane Ida has dealt on many homes and families, ranging from power outages to complete loss of their homes due to flooding. In the case of Sharron Art Center, the hurricane has dealt devastating damage to the building, leaving it flooded, glass shattered, and especially, the artworks within utterly ruined. Now artists don't simply pick up a paintbrush and splash paint onto a canvas carelessly, hoping for a miracle of an outcome. Hours go into the process of planning, designing, and the actual creation of the piece, and it is heartbreaking for the passionate efforts of the artists to be reduced to nothing. Students of all ages attend this art center, and it's a place where they may cultivate their skills to produce artworks they never would have dreamed of producing. I speak from my heart, as I have experienced this myself. In all transparent honesty, I would not be where I am today without attending this center, so I plead for your understanding as a student and for my fellow students and the teachers who have gotten me where I am now.
Rest assured that every dollar donated will be used for repairs, as well as buying new materials and furniture to replace what has been swept away within the school. Whether it be one dollar, a hundred dollars, or simply sharing this to spread awareness, your effort is equally and greatly appreciated as it brings us one step further to the restoration of Sharron Art Center.
My heart reaches out to those who have also been affected and I hope that everyone may work together to recover from these tough times.
