My name is Sharon Ivey, and I am reaching out to share my journey and ask for your support. On October 1, 2025, I became a amputee after a long and difficult battle with an infection in my right foot. Despite eight weeks of antibiotics administered through IV infusion, the infection persisted and did not respond to treatment. Doctors later discovered two cysts in my foot and ankle, and I was faced with an impossible choice: lose my foot or risk losing my life. Making the decision to undergo amputation was the hardest thing I have ever done, but it was necessary for my survival. Now I live a life of my adoptive big sister taking care of me and herself with her own disability money that she gets every month to live one. She is a very special woman and I thank God for her every day and for giving her the patience she has with me no matter how many times she has to tell me the same thing over and over again. I love you sister!!
Now, I am working hard to adjust to this new chapter in my life. My greatest hope is to regain my independence and return to the activities I love. To do that, I need a prosthetic leg, which will allow me to walk on my own again, care for myself, and participate in daily life with confidence and dignity.
I am humbly asking for your help and support as I work toward this goal. Every donation, prayer, and kind word means the world to me. Thank you for standing with me during this challenging time. May God bless you and your family abundantly.
