Help Sharon (single mother) with Stage 4 Cancer

Hi, my name is Jennifer Jonovich.  Most of you that know me, know that I have a sister named Sharon who has been battling the same kind of cancer (ovarian) that my mother passed away from when she was 52.  Sharon is only 45 years old and has stage 4 Ovarian cancer. She is a single mother with two children, a boy age 14 and a girl age 4. The doctors found the cancer after the birth of her daughter.

Over the past few years she was doing well on chemotherapy and getting back on her feet. Recently she was hospitalized for a tumor in her brain after complaining of dizziness and headache that we thought was caused by her Chemotherapy treatment.  However, the cancer has metastisized (or spread).

Up until this latest visit to the hospital, Sharon has been working at the YMCA and receives government assistance that helps to pay for most of her rent. She has received help from family and friends but needs extra income to help make "ends meet"; she will need money to help pay her utility bills, laundromat expenses, sundries (things that she cannot get with food stamps – soap, toilet paper etc.) clothing for growing children, and travel expenses for treatments and getting her kids back and forth to school.

Those of you that have dealt with family members that have had cancer know that it is a battle that is never truly won.  It is a roller coaster ride that brings great happiness in times of remission and sorrow when the ride is over. Making sure that her children have what they need both when she is here and when she is gone is her biggest worry.  Plans have been made for the kids to live with their adult cousin (my son) and his wife and their two children when the time comes. We are so grateful that they are willing to do this.

However, because of all the expenses Sharon and the kids will have, we were encouraged to set up this Go-Fund Me page so that friends and family that want to help Sharon and her kids could donate to this fund. Any amount you can donate will be greatly appreciated; no amount is too small since every little bit helps.

The plan is to have this fund available for as long as Sharon needs it and beyond for her children. (since like a lot of people, Sharon did not think of life insurance as a necessity at her age and was unable to qualify for it after her diagnosis)

A fund has been set up for Sharon at BBVA Compass Bank.

Thank you so much for helping Sharon and her family during this time of need. We really do appreciate all of the acts of service, well wishes and prayers that have been offered up in her name over the past few years.
