SanJuanIslander.com has provided daily news coverage of the San Juan Islands for more than 25 years. In the beginning - the good old days - advertising on media websites was popular and the revenue supported a variety of local media.

Well, that was then. Now we're competing with social media, ads on Facebook, Instagram, etc. The fact that all of those options have a large but limited audience doesn't seem to matter.

San Juan Islander is open to everyone. No pay walls, no membership needed.

This summer hasn't been the best. Falling and bruising my ribs was the topper. Slows me down a bit.

The updated website was supposed to be up at the beginning of September. I have my fingers crossed it will be live on October 1. The learning curve for DIVI 5 is steep - at least I have found it so.

Any donation will be deeply appreciated. It's getting harder and harder for local independent media. CrossCut which was a wonderful resource has been recently closed.
