My name is Sharon, and for years, I have been fighting a quiet, daily battle with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease (MCTD), Lupus SLE, and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Essentially, my own immune system has mistaken my vital organs for the enemy.

This means the arteries in my lungs are narrowing, forcing my heart to work at its absolute maximum capacity just to help me take a single breath.
