Help Sharon Byrnes- Cat Mom Battling Cancer!

Donation protected
Imagine a day where despite doing everything right in life, you could not provide for your beloved pets- family members that look soley to you - trust you for all of their needs? Imagine for a second how crushing that would feel. With the state of today's medical establishment, it could happen to any of us in the blink of an eye. We MUST come together as a community in NYC and support eachother through these times so that we too can count on someone down the line. We cannot allow our poor healthcare system strip away the humanity and dignity of New Yorkers.

Hi, my name is Jocelyn (animal rescue volunteer) and I am fundraising for Sharon Byrnes who has been battling pancreatic cancer for the past year. She is in and out of the hospital, unable to work, and drowning in medical bills. She is fighting with all of her strength to beat this for her family and her cats.

Sharon is the adopter of every rescue group's dreams. Her 9 rescue cats have always been the center of her orbit. Over the years, I have witnessed her adopt tough cases- cats that noone else wanted without batting an eye (too feral, too shy, too spicy), welcoming them into her home and transforming them with love, no matter how long it took. She addresses every single medical need and already had a dental done on one of her cats this year. But at $1300 a pop, and her disability payments not coming in until May, she swallowed her pride and reached out for help.

Her wide eyed tabby baby, Dylan urgently needs a dental and is in severe pain, making it through with antibiotic shots until we can raise the funds to schedule, but it must be done in the next few weeks. Dylan, an Ollie's Place (Mighty Mutts) alumn, was a shy, scared boy from the streets who flourished under her wing and is extremely bonded with her. We can't wait to have him feeling good again, and can't wait to lift this unneeded stressor from Sharon's shoulders! If you too have experienced the vulnerabilities caused by cancer, are an avid animal lover, or just love supporting fellow New Yorkers in need, please contribute so we can reach $1,300 quickly!
