Help Sharon and Paula with Emergency Assistance
Sharon and Paula Lippman have run Art Without Walls, a non profit on Long Island, NY for many years. They were instrumental in helping me become the creative, resourceful, and versatile artist I am today. I would not be who I am without the influence of these two women in my life. They shared their home, their studio, their years of art history knowledge, techniques, and connections in and across artistic fields with the youth and other populations in great need of care and attention. They are now in need of our help as they lost everything in a recent flood in their basement studio and art classroom. It completely destroyed all of their years of hard work, art piece, studio equipment, family history and more. They are now barely surviving, with minimal aid and assistance, no ability to teach classes due to covid, and lacking basic necessities like lighting fixtures, functional appliances, and convenient means to even get groceries. I’d like to help these amazing women get the assistance and support they now need. After decades of supporting their community in a million ways, now it’s the community’s turn to help them. Below is Sharon’s description of her life, accomplishments, contributions, and now, dire need of help. All donations will benefit sisters and educators, Sharon and Paula so they may continue to live with basic needs met in their home. Please help if you can!

Always believing in community service she gave 15 years serving on the Sayville Library Board (without any salary).
All her work is without salaries, grants,or funds, operating purely on volunteerism and in -kind services . For over 40 years , Ms. Lippman entered hospitals and health institutions as: Helen Keller Center for the Blind,Southside Hospital,Schneider Children's Hospital,St.Charles Hospital,Good Samaritan Hospital, Brookhaven Hospital, creating art therapy games for geriatric, pediatric and veterans to aid wellness. Without salary or funds for herself all these years , her devotion to help emerging artists, children, youth, and adults develop artistic knowledge and experience,as well as seriously ill and handicapped individuals find self expression.
She has helped shaped the lives of many young and aspiring artists, giving them the inspiration and empowerment to believe in themselves and their work.

The uniqueness of Art Without Walls,Inc.,lies in Sharon Lippman's encyclopedic knowledge of art history, her cultural experiences curating Manhattan and her anecdotal stories of growing up in the 60's ,exposed to some of the greatest artists of the 20th century,as well as all the people she knew and worldly experiences living to share to all the people. Her respect for every individual only enriches the gift and honor of knowing Ms. Lippman.
Not only has a major auto accident in 2005, left her disabled with permanent spine and pelvic dislocation into servere scoliosis,it has not diminished her work ,making sure her award winning ,annual art exhibition for innovative emerging artists, disabled artists and children,"Museum Without Walls" is provided every June in Central Park. Previous shows have been at the South Street Seaport,Ellis Island,Battery Park and more.
In November,a major pipe broke in the, studio, causing over 2 1/2 feet of sludge, water, and mold. Over 45 years of artwork, lessons, photo darkroom equipment, antiques, art supplies,,easels, light fixtures, etc. was destroyed and thrown out ,including Art therapy games to be donated to Hospitals. Personal items from family photos, and childhood items, were lost,as well.
In addition her car ,1995,Taurus which she used to visit hospitals became unusable, forcing her to walk 3 miles each way, just to get items,,with a broken spine.
Living on extreme poverty,of only SSID monthly now without a studio, and the virus curtailing classes,Ms. Lippman is now destitute. Without family to help and near death with extreme anemia, greatly needed help is of importance.”
